The latest in soap news!

December 2011

As I sit here addressing Christmas cards, I realize the only words I have sent out about Virginia's Soap have been on Face book. Nothing else since Thanksgiving; not that I don't have things to say, I always have something to say—some even suggest it is a problem of mine. (winky face) Therefore, we should catch up.It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We have finished our craft sales for this year and continue to fill Christmas and wholesale orders for our customers.

We've had a great time promoting the newer soaps in our line, like Cabana Boy and Pretty in Pink and re introducing old favourites such as It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas and Northern Lights. In Tootsie Loofahs we have Raspberry, Peppermint Snow, Lavender & Lace, and Swiss Chocolate Almond to add to the regulars we usually have in stock. We also have Calm Balm, Pumpkin Seed Butter Balm, and Aloe & Coconut Butter in stock in 2 sizes (10 grams and 50 grams). These are an excellent remedy for your parched skin, for eczema or for the little person who continues to wipe his runny nose across his face (that's my boy!).

If you are sending Virginia's Soap gifts for Christmas you still have time to pick up or have an order shipped, give us a call we are happy to help. Our soaps this year has been shipped to Spain, Hawaii, Australia, and California, that I know of and of course all across Canada.Cabana Boy

We held our Virginia's Soap open house on December 3 and while I was doing a last minute tidy of the bathroom I took out all the little bits and pieces of the soap we had been using and thought to put in a bar of the Christmas soap. I got side tracked doing other jobs and putting soap in the bathroom slipped my mind—totally. One of our first attendees went to use the bathroom; he returned to pick up his purchase and said, "This is too funny, there is no soap in your bathroom to wash your hands." Sometimes the best laid plans go awry.

Great news! The Fort Whyte Nature Store, in Winnipeg, Manitoba is now carrying our Tootsie Loofahs, stop in and see the great folks there. ellënoire Salon & Boutique in Dundas, Ontario is carrying our soaps. You can see them on line at http://www.ellenoire.com. We wish them all the best with the new and beautiful space the have designed. We are happy to let you know that we are the soap maker for Grysiuk Queen Bee Honey. You can catch them at St. Vital Mall until Christmas—they have wonderful honey and now wonderful soaps with their honey in them!

I was flipping through an old December edition of Country Living magazine and came across this poem or thoughts of British Poet Edith Sitwell:

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food, for the touch of a friendly hand and a talk beside the fire; It is the time for home.“Peppermint Snow Tootsie Loofah

Many times I have read the dog eared page with those words on them and internalized these words: comfort food, home, friends and fireside chats—we had many fireside chats growing up and I cherish each memory.

Don & I along with our family wish you a very Merry Christmas and an enchanted winter. Welcome warm sweaters & warm memories that keep away winter's chill. May we remember one kind word can warm three winter months.

All the best to you always,
Don & Kim
